Workflow Efficiency

SGIS was created and structured with the farm business in mind.

The tree structure used by the system organises data by Service Provider (i.e. Grower, Crop Consultant or Retail Fertiliser Dealer), then by Grower, Farm, Field, Activity (i.e. Profit Analysis Calculator, Application or Analysis) and Plan, for easy visualisation of the information and access to the relevant areas.

At the Grower, Farm and Field levels, the Events (e.g. Soil Samples, Harvest Data and As Applied Data) can be imported into SGIS.  With the use of Harvest and As Applied imports, the user is capable of creating field boundaries.

At the Field level, a field boundary can be created or edited and crops can be assigned for full or split field assignments.  The Field level is also where the respective Activity (i.e. Profit Analysis, Application or Analysis) is created, the parameters are determined and the plan is executed.

Creating plans

Once an activity has been created, the user will create a plan to determine the recommendation equation to be used, in order to establish the source of information for variables in the chosen equation and the products to be applied.

SGIS promotes full user flexibility in making crop recommendations.

Within one activity, multiple plans can be created for evaluation by the user and the grower.

SGIS is a tool designed to enhance the value of the agronomic service provider's program, rather than limit it.

Features and Benefits

Using Templates
Once the activity and plan have been created and approved, the user can save that activity as a template.

Creating Field Boundaries
In order to create field boundaries for the grower, driving the boundary, while more accurate, is not necessary.

Image Viewer
Once the plan is available, the image viewer can be used to inspect the plan in *.tif file formats.

Saving the map images
Once the plan is available, the user has the capability to save the information as an *.html file, which he can then e-mail to the grower.

EZQ and Quick Print Maps
EZQ is a sub-processing program to SGIS.
